Minh Quang Hotel

The hotel looks like new.|In fact it seems that they are reforming the hotel, it was not yet ready to receive guests. The business is managed by the family who lives in place and nobody there speaks English, so don't expect any type of service or information. They tried to be helpfull, but all that we could do was to go to the hotel to sleep only.|The room was good size. The bed a bit small, but comfortable. Bath and shower good. There was a small balcony overlooking the Bay.|The floor was extremely dirty, and in 3 nights we stayed there was no cleaning service.|Perhaps the hotel gonna be good, but for now only recommend for those who want something simple and inexpensive.

Good price but would have been nice with some breakfast as well. Bed was big and fairly comfortable. Side view of the bay was good.

Our wifi didn't work even though I asked them many times to try and fix it. The room was nicer in the photos and our aircon didn't work.

For 100000d per night, it’s hard to criticize much. The bed was huge. The AC and hot water worked. It was pretty clean overall. There was a partial view of the bay from the small balcony. Big windows for natural light. Plenty of storage space in the room. They supplied soap and toiletries. Wifi was consistent. Based on some of the other reviews I read, I was expecting it to be slightly nicer, but it served its’ purpose well. It’s a little rough around the edges, but you’d be hard pressed to find a better price for a private room with a bathroom anywhere in the world.

Nice hotel in Cat Ba downtown area. 3 minutes from the bayfront walking, 1 minute from a small grocery shop. Rooms are spacious, air con is working fine. I paid 300 000 for twin beds (2 people). Oh, and they have an elevator! Great when you have huge backpacks and have to go to the 6th floor :P They were OK with me leaving my motorbike in front of the hotel for the night. Laundry service available and the reception ladies, though they speak no english, are really a funny bunch :)

If you are in trouble when you arrive in Cat Ba, take this place into consideration. It’s not spotless, but mattress, air con is good, price for me very convenient €6 p/n. Lift, no breakfast.
